Hard work in the classroom can pay off—literally! With Essential Credit Union’s Learn & Earn Program, eligible student members can earn cash for great grades while building their savings along the way.
Earn $5 for every A or equivalent, up to $50 per year. Earnings are deposited into the student’s required Start-Up Savings Account, giving them a head start on saving while rewarding a job well done.
Who Can Participate?
The Learn & Earn Program is available to active Essential Credit Union members age 18 and younger who are enrolled in school.
To qualify:
- You must be an active Essential Credit Union member with a Start Up Savings account.
- You must be 18 years old or younger and enrolled in school.
- Rewards are based on semester-end report cards.
- Earn $5 for each A or equivalent qualifying grade.
- Rewards are limited to $25 per semester and $50 per year.
- A 3.50 GPA qualifies for a $10 bonus, subject to the $50 annual program limit.
- A semester report card containing a failing grade of F or U is not eligible for participation.
- The highest attainable grade on the individual report card’s grading scale will be considered, including A, S (Satisfactory), or O (Outstanding).
- Maximum Learn & Earn credits are limited to $500 over the duration of membership.
Important Information for Members Under Age 13
Essential Credit Union complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which restricts the collection of personal information online from children under age 13.
For members age 12 and younger, a parent or guardian must complete and submit the online redemption form on the member’s behalf. Members may also visit an Essential Credit Union branch to redeem qualifying grades in person.
Program eligibility, redemption periods, grade requirements, reward limits, and other terms apply. January–May report cards must be submitted in June or July. August–December report cards must be submitted in January or February.
